January assessment: learner response

1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

WWW: Able to recall how film companies use marketing methods, a good understanding of both films csps and the beginning to have an opinion in the extended 20 marks

EBI: further study/revise glow from book/blog e.g media code, vertical integration, begin to analyse products using media theories e.g reception theory

2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the mark you achieved for each question:

Q1: 1
Q2: 0
Q3: 3
Q4: 1
Q5: 2
Q6: 9

Where you didn't achieve full marks, write WHY you think you missed out on the extra marks. Use the indicative content suggestions in the mark scheme to help with this.

I need to study media code and vertical integration further more and need to analyse products using theories and i need to rephrase some of my questions and argue how they have more creative expression/freedom and not to repeat certain points and to elaborate on my answers more.

3) Did you get any media terminology wrong in the assessment? Make a note of it here for future revision:
I didn't use the term star power

4) Look specifically at question 3 - did you successfully write about both the preferred and oppositional readings? Did your answers match any in the mark scheme? Some of my oppositional ans preferred reading answers matched it but I articulated it in a different way

5) Now look at question 4. Write a definition of vertical integration to revise this key industry terminology.
They have greater control over every stage of the production and they also have complete ownership on all the creative products being created.

6) Finally, look at your 20-mark essay - question 6. Write a four-paragraph essay plan for this question, using the suggested answers in the mark scheme to help you. Use this format:

Paragraph 1: explain why you Disagree or agree

Paragraph 2: compare the differences that they have

Paragraph 3: how they marketed their film

Paragraph 4: and how they were successful
